VIP Mortgage is an agency-direct lender that was founded in 2006 by Jay Barbour and Keith Teegardin. Founded amidst the housing crash and subsequential housing crisis, VIP believes in restoring the reputation of the mortgage industry through responsible lending practices.

After serving as a Marine in Operation Desert Storm, Jay began his career in the mortgage industry in 1992. As a quick study, he quickly rose through the ranks of loan originators and eventually ran a top-performing branch in Mesa, AZ, before forming VIP Mortgage. Keith, a lifelong friend, was also fully immersed in the mortgage industry following college. His father, Jack Teegardin, is a well-respected loan industry veteran with decades of experience under his belt.

Today, Jay and Keith oversee approximately 700 employees with branches in seven states, licensed to do business in 26 states. Every Monday morning, Jay sends a companywide text with words of encouragement, gratitude, and accomplishment. It is never lost on Jay how lucky we all are to be in a “get-to” job, as opposed to a “got-to” job!
